Kevin Gillott has been a councilor for 16 years and works as a qualified solicitor. He is currently the Deputy Leader of the Labour Group, having formerly chaired the council’s Resources & Scrutiny Committee. He is also an experience school governor.
Kate Smith is a Liberal Democrat campaign activist and former Amber Valley Councillor (2003-08). She has previously stood as the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Amber Valley in both the 2005 and 2001 General Elections, receiving 13% and 12% of the vote respectively. Smith has previously campaigned in her local area on NHS services, education, highways and transport, climate change and housing. She currently works at the National Tramway Museum.
