Nick Palmer was the MP for Broxtowe from 1997 to 2010, during which time he was Parliamentary Private Secretary to Ministers in the Departments for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs; Trade and Investment; and Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. An animal rights campaigner, Palmer has a PhD in mathematics and has successfully managed two small businesses.
David Kirwan is an Area Organiser for UNISON in the NHS and Broxtowe Town Councillor. Born in Nottingham and now a resident of Kimberley in the Broxtowe constituency, Kirwan is prioritising local issues beyond traditional Green Party environmental policies, such as protection of the NHS, in his campaign. Kirwan has stated his belief that “the 2015 election will see smaller parties making great strides as the public become increasingly disillusioned by Labour and Conservatives”.
Frank Dunne has earned a degree from Aston Business School and graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a certificate in Education. After working as a development manager at Carillion Plc, Dunne is now a Managing Director at Upskill Assessment and Training Ltd.
