Ian Austin has been the Labour MP for Dudley North since 2005. Austin served in number of Government positions in the last Labour Government, including Parliamentary Under Secretary of State with responsibility for Planning in the Department of Communities and Local Government (2009-10), Assistant Whip (2008-09) and Parliamentary Private Secretary to then-Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Austin entered the Shadow front bench as a Shadow Minister for a number of briefs, including Communities and Local Government (2010), Culture, Media and Sport (2010-11), and Work and Pensions (2011-13) before returning to the backbenches, where he continues to serve on the Home Affairs Committee.

Bill Etheridge is currently the Chairman of Dudley and Halesowen UKIP and organizer of the Black Country Branch of the Campaign Against Political Correctness. Etheridge has served as a Governor of local school Northfield Road in Netherton and former Governor for the Dudley Group NHS Trust. As well as running for the Parliamentary seat of Dudley North, Etheridge is running for the European Parliament for the West Midlands Region and for local council for Dudley’s Sedgley Ward.
